Guest Posts
I enjoy doing guest posts. I like being able to write in a different format or about other subjects. They are also a great way to make sure I write. When I have promised something to someone, I will work on it and get it done.
The travel and expat blogging world is very friendly and social. The following have asked me to write a guest post or do an interview for their site.

- A Totally Impractical Guide to Living in Shanghai – Mary Anne is running an open ended set of interviews with expats and former expats. I was Interview #3 over there.
- Don’t Ever Look Back – A part of their Frugal February effort. My piece on saving money by drinking water.
- Suzy Guese – Freiburg, Germany Wishes You were Here. A short photo view into Freiburg.
- Brink of Something Else – Interview with Camden, an expat in Peru.
- Jeremy at Budget Travel Intentions has both a guest post called “The life of an expat” and an interview.
- A Dangerous Business – A guest post titled “Balancing Freedom and Stability“
- The Working Traveler – An interview
- Brendan’s Adventures – “Why we travel: Expats“
Interested in Guest Posting on Grounded Traveler?
Sure, I would love to have other stories and points of view. I’m looking for posts dealing with being or becoming an expat as well as overcoming fear with travel. I would like to expand the Germany travel side of the site as well. Just send me a message through the contact form with your post idea and we can discuss it.

The Trans-Siberian rail journey has been on my list for a long time. When I was still adamant about not flying, I had planned to take it out to see Japan. So when I met Katie at TBEX and she talked about going, I was intrigued to hear how it went. She has now completed the journey and here is my interview with her.
London Expat Experience
Lots of beer, lots of parties, trying to make heads or tails of the tube map and planning the next European trip. That’s the London Expat Experience.

The Siren Song of Home Leave
I will also be heading home in June after over three years as an expat for a “home leave”, so this topic is close to my heart too. In this guest post, Suzer expands upon one of her posts about going home again. The mix of identities that an expat has to deal with “going back.” Check out her blog for more expat tales from Australia.- Andrew

A Trip to Kleve
When Charlotte proposed to write a guest post about Kleve, I was intrigued. It is a pretty obscure corner of Germany even I had never heard, but now I have an urge to go see it. It is so untouristed that finding Creative Commons pictures was a challenge.- Andrew The district of Kleve is not [...]
Traveling vs. Living as an Expat
Guest Post by Italylogue: Jessica Spiegel.
“My plan is to move to Italy,” I tell my new Italian friend over coffee in Milan. He looks back at me blankly and for a moment I wonder if I’ve used the wrong verb tense or accidentally said something about his mother. It’s not until he replies that the blank look becomes clear and I get a strong sense of déjà vu.
“But – why would you want to do that?” he asks. And I sigh. Again.
